The Art that Makes the Art

The Art that Makes the Art

We only see the final product when we look at art, but it’s often the process that is the most interesting part, especially for the artist.

I’ve been collecting artist palettes for years now. It’s such an intimate object, that for this reason can be difficult to find.

A palette represents the sensibility and the character of the artist; it contains the DNA of the art.

An idea leaves the brain and is placed onto the palette, where it is transformed into a color and then transferred to hands and brush to finish the job.

It’s an extension of the body, the mind, of an artist.
